General Submission Guidelines

  • To submit an abstract, please register for the conference first.
  • Abstracts must be submitted in English.
  • Submitted abstracts must be original. An abstract, which has been previously published or presented at an international scientific meeting can only be submitted if new methods, findings, or updated information are presented.
  • Material presented in abstracts should not violate any copyright laws.
  • Each delegate can present up to 2 activities although he/she might be a co-author in others.
  • For each submission please indicate the presenting author.
  • Please indicate the appropriate conference track: big data, digital health in global health, ecological eHealth interventions, general ambulatory assessment.
  • Please indicate the preferred way of presentation: symposium, workshop, oral presentation, poster, last-minute poster. Depending on the number of submissions, please note that the scientific committee will decide the final type of presentation.
  • The abstract title should have no more than 20 words.
  • The maximum length of the body of the abstract for an oral presentation, poster presentation and workshop is 250 words. Tables and/or pictures are not accepted as part of the abstract.
  • Please use the following structure in a workshop abstract: Background / Aim of the Workshop / Methods/ Results and Conclusions.
  • Abstracts need to provide evidence of results – “the results will be discussed” is not acceptable.
  • Please declare all potential conflicts of interest of all authors.

Symposia

Registered participants can submit symposia, which include 4-5 individual oral presentations that offer unique contributions to a specific central theme, followed by a moderated, interactive exchange involving the audience. The symposium session should not exceed 90 minutes and allow for sufficient time for the moderated discussion.

Symposium conveners are required to submit an overall abstract describing the contents of the symposium and list the proposed speakers and discussant. Each symposium presenter will be required to submit an individual abstract for their presentation by the general submission deadline which has been extended to 1st January 2017, indicating the symposium to which the presentation will contribute.

Abstract Submission Deadline

With the exception of late-minute posters, all other abstracts must be submitted by 1st January 2017 (extended deadline).

Authors will be notified about the acceptance or rejection of their abstract by 20th February 2017. All presenting authors must complete the payment of the conference fee by 31st March 2017.

Last-Minute Posters

A small number of last-minute abstracts will be accepted for presentation as posters at the conference. The same submission rules apply for the last-minute poster abstracts as for the regular abstracts. The deadline for last-minute poster submissions is 15th May 2017.

Please note that the abstracts submitted as last-minute will not be included in the published abstract book. However, all abstracts will be available in an electronic downloadable version.
